About this song
This is a song I like to do with my Elementary music students. I have a plastic pumpkin with a variety of small instruments; cabasa, rhythm sticks, egg shakers, small maracas, and sand blocks. The students pass the pumpkin with the instruments inside of it to the steady beat. When the song ends and pumpkin lands on a student, they get to choose and instrument to play the steady beat with. When the pumpkin runs out of instruments, and it lands on a student. They get to go "trick-or-treating" and take an instrument from another student. The goal is to allow each student a turn with ONE instrument. If the pumpkin lands on someone who has already played an instrument, the students will continue to pass it along until it gets to someone who has not had a turn. I hope you enjoy this game!
